Check back for 2017 details!

Meet Alyssa!

I was born and raised in San Diego, California, but have lived in Las Vegas for just over a year. I completed my Bachelor’s in Exercise and Wellness from Brigham Young University, where I met my husband. We have a son who will be turning one in January. I LOVE all things related to  health and wellness as well as serving others. Being an ambassador for the Las Vegas Great Santa Run combines those two passions! I know that Opportunity Village does much good for Las Vegas and I am excited to be a part of such a great cause.

Meet Tom!

Tom moved to Las Vegas from his hometown of Philadelphia, PA in the summer of 2016.  He is a Senior Consultant with the Orion Group.  In addition to being selected as a Great Santa Run Ambassador by Opportunity Village, Tom has served in leadership roles on a variety of nonprofit boards including the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), and Saving Hallowed Ground. A Clydesdale-class runner, his tastes lean more towards endurance events including the PA Hero Walk, (a 13-day, 350-mile trek across Pennsylvania) and the Lone Ranger( a 24-hour ultramarathon in which he achieved a PR of 88 miles). Tom is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and when he is not busy telling people all about the Opportunity Village Great Santa Run, he enjoys reading, fishing, travel, and helping others.

Meet Jose!

My name is Jose, I am 34 years old and since I can remember I have always been overweight.  Some of my most familiar words are fat, chunky and gordo. Growing up as a child I was always made fun of because of my weight and how I looked. I became so used to the fat shaming and name calling but eventually I learned not to take what was said to me so seriously and would just let the negative comments fall by wayside and go on with my business.  However, those negative words/comments still affected me and the overall image I had of myself.

Meet Melissa!

I have been a personal trainer and running coach for over 8 years.  I focus the majority of my time with one of the best running clubs in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Runners, as well as training for upcoming races of my own.  I love to run the long distances and have completed several ultra marathons over the past 4-5 years.  This November I will be completing my first 100 mile run race.  When I am not running or coaching, I am helping out with another local non profit and great program for younger girls, Girls on the Run, where I have been a coach, 5K director, and volunteer for the past 4 years.  I am super excited to put together another great team and help support Opportunity Village and all of the great work they do.  The Great Santa Run really is great, and a TON of fun!  I am excited to help promote it this year!

  Meet Kendra!
